CURRENT FEDERAL AND STATE ELECTED OFFICIALS

There is more work to do in the Midwest and throughout the United States.  There are only 8 Black women serving in Congress from the Midwest and 69 Black women serving in their state legislatures throughout the Midwest.  These women are listed here.   As of 2021, there are no Black women serving as state legislators in the states of Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
