MADAM FOR AMERICA EDUCATION FUND
Training and empowering leaders, as well as community engagement is at the heart of our programs.
Donations to this fund, through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
We are invested in training aspiring candidates and campaign operatives on every facet of a campaign to ensure they are prepared, engaged and ready to lead. Aspiring candidates will learn about writing campaign plans, fundraising, voter outreach, coalition building, opposition research, dealing with the media, effective use of social media and how to prepare for office after winning.
We will develop a summer camp specifically for girls ages 10 - 13 entitled: Young Political S.I.S. "Sisters in STEM." We will partner with other organizations and challenge girls in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, public speaking, teambuilding, politics, science, technology, engineering, and math.
RESEARCH AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT
To ensure our issues remain at the forefront, we will research critical issues through polling, think tanks, surveys, and focus groups to develop policies. We will educate and advocate on behalf of our communities. We will advocate for enactment and enforcement of federal, state, and local laws protecting our constitutional rights and advancing civil rights.
We will create our Midwest Black Women in Politics Directory. This directory will compile a list of current office holders, previous office holders, candidates and others who have an interest in running for office.
VOTER OUTREACH & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Democracy is at work when everyone is involved. We will partner with schools, faith-based organizations and community groups to increase political participation and civic engagement. Voter registration and get-out-to-vote drives are our priority. We will work to expand voting rights, especially for those who are often disenfranchised, ensure the National Voter Registration Act is followed and fight against all forms of voter suppression with priority in the Midwest/Great Lakes Region.
We will collaborate with other organizations to ensure everyone is counted for Census 2020 and beyond.
We will host public forums to keep the community informed about issues of importance.
LUNCHEONS AND SYMPOSIUMS
Educating, training, networking with candidates, campaign operatives will be held while inviting political and community leaders for panel discussions.
To create a pipeline of women ready to serve in public office, we believe we must connect them to former and current women serving in law and politics.
S.I.P. & SOCIAL "SISTERS IN POLITICS"
These socials are designed to network with professionals, legislators and community members.
