Inaugural Town Hall Meeting Hosted by Madam For America





On September 21, 2019, Madam for America held its inaugural Town Hall Meeting: When We Rise at the Plexpod - Westport Commons in Kansas City, Missouri. Panelists included current and former appointed and elected officials. These outstanding women leaders in attendance were Missouri State Representative Barbara A. Washington, Kansas City, Missouri City Councilwoman Ryana Parks-Shaw, Former Missouri State Representative Sharon Sanders-Brooks, Deputy Director of the Kansas City Health Department, Tracie McClendon-Cole, Attorney Arimeta DuPree and Entrepreneur Marquita Miller.


Community members were engaged as we discussed critical issues about how we will address the Census in 2020, women running for public office, voting rights, economic justice, education, housing, healthcare and criminal justice reform.
